Advocacy & Communications Subcommittee
The Advocacy and Communications Subcommittee works closely with all the other committees and subcommittees to share information both within OPCC and to the legislature, patients and the general public. The Subcommittee is made up of individuals who have a desire to communicate progress and facts as they relate to cancer control. This committee is also responsible for membership functions of OPCC, making recommendations to the Executive Board regarding membership changes.
Goals & Objectives:
- Increase Interest in Cancer Surveillance, Prevention, and Control Activities among State of Ohio Legislators and Organizational Policy Makers to Influence Policy and Systems Changes
I've been cancer free for two years and six months. What a miracle! I believe an important part of my recovery is having a positive attitude. Since there is only a 1% survival rate with pancreatic cancer, it would be easy to feel sorry for myself and wallow in fear. But life is short, and I thank God every day that I am alive and cancer free.
